In Due Time: 9-26-12
Good Morning Friends of Thrive Community Church. When I read this verse from today's One Year Bible Reading, All I could say was, "Lord may it be so today". It's from Isaiah 50:
4 The Sovereign Lord has given me His words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning He wakens me and opens my understanding to His will.
I love the certainty of the second sentence. It's not "One day, maybe God might kinda, umm possibly begin to start helping me to sorta figure out His will". The second sentence is an absolute. Did I awake this morning? Yes! Then today, God is opening my understanding to His will- period!
What if there is a lack of clarity of God's will in my life? Well, the problem is either with God or me! Since I can be pretty sure it's not God, the real question is "why am I not finding the revealed will of God for my life"? I have two answers to offer 1) I really, deep down in my heart, know His will and am trying to find another way "pretending" to vacillate between options or 2) I am asking for answers out of there due time. There is a right moment in time for every answer and usually our timing and God's are not the same! Therefore, maybe I need to be more patient and trust with certainty that God has revealed what I need to know for today and anything else will be revealed in due time.
My Prayer for today: "Lord, I make a decision to trust that you are revealing to me exactly what I need for today, no more & no less. Furthermore, in accordance with Isa. 50:4, give me words of wisdom that I might comfort the weary today"
